Please join Tulsa Foundation for Architecture on a LIVE/ZOOM Walking Tour in the Oil Capital Historic District!
TFA Guide Ellen Stanley will take us on a 45-minute tour of Tulsa’s “new” 1910s downtown, with preservation advocate and TFA Advisor Marty Newman along for the ride. Tour-goers will explore Tulsa’s explosive growth following the discovery of oil through the lens of our built environment. The money was flowing like the oil, and we wanted the world to know it! We’ll look at some of the first skyscrapers in town, and talk about the beaux arts and revival styles with some Louis Sullivan inspiration thrown in for fun.
Tulsa in the Teens: Beaux Arts + Sullivanesque is the second in a five-part weekly series of LIVE/ZOOM tours from TFA. Each week will focus on a different decade or style. Your Guide will be live on the street. As a participant, you can ask questions and interact with the host as you explore Tulsa from the comfort of your sofa. Put your feet up, and come on a walking tour with us!
TL;DR: Yes, it’s on Zoom, but it’s a live tour. NO, it’s not another dry PowerPoint.

We’ve got big plans for new in-person tours soon, but in the meantime, this is a great way to reconnect and support our mission.
HOW TO WATCH: When you purchase a ticket, you’ll get a confirmation email from Eventbrite an hour before the tour that will include your Zoom link. Please make sure you have the latest version of Zoom installed on your computer, tablet, or phone. Zoom.us is the place to get it.
WATCHING TOGETHER? Of course we want you to watch with the other folks in your household! However, if you are purchasing more than one ticket and need separate login emails, please enter each email address during checkout. ISSUES? Email us at email@example.com.
