TFA DISTINCTIVE DWELLINGS

A 1916 Dutch Colonial in Swan Lake
Sunday, October 13, 2024

$15 | $11.25 | First Entry at 1:30

Tulsa boasts a wide variety of residential architecture from the late 1800s through today. From midcentury modern, craftsman bungalows and colonial revival to contemporary mansions, there is an abundance of interesting homes throughout the city. The goal of TFA’s newest residential-focused program, Distinctive Dwellings, is to give those who love architecture an opportunity to see behind the doors of Tulsa’s most distinctive residences through self-guided exploration. Each guest will received a brochure with historic information about the property and have the opportunity to explore the home at their own pace.

This Distinctive Dwellings open house features A 1916 Dutch Colonial in Swan Lake.

This classic Dutch Colonial home in historic Swan Lake was constructed in 1916 with an original above grade square footage of 1,616. Although the house is 108 years old, it’s only had four owners of record. This distinctive residence combines elegance with an artsy flair.

The original historical architectural elements have been preserved in accordance with the governing Tulsa Preservation Commission guidelines, also applying to exterior modifications such as the added master bathroom and the enclosed porch. The major historical elements inside the home have been retained and restored with modifications to improve flow and add two separate family quarters, making the current square footage in the main house 2,634. The area of the property not visible from the street has been transformed into a tranquil escape with a multi-level deck, pool and serene secret garden.

TICKET INFORMATION: Tickets for this open house are $15 for not yet members and $11.25 for TFA members.
