This cross-sectional drawing of the Palace Theatre, once situated on 219 S. Main Street in Tulsa, dates from the 1930s remodel of the building by the Fleming and Koberling firm. Curious is the inscription of “Harvard” on the face of building, which may suggest that renaming the facility was once being considered. Although the venue thrived on silent films throughout the early part of the century, it ultimately closed its doors in the decade that followed, and was subsequently demolished. Uncovered during our ongoing archival survey, this striking document attests to the ornamental beauty of structures dating from this period.
