Sunday, February 18, 2024
$15 | $11.25 | First Entry at 1:30
Tulsa boasts a wide variety of impressive buildings throughout the city – many of which few people have an opportunity to see inside. The goal of TFA’s SNEAK-A-PEEK program is to give those who love architecture and history an opportunity to see behind the doors of Tulsa’s most interesting buildings through self-guided exploration with accompanying written information about the property’s history.
This SNEAK-A-PEEK features the architecturally distinctive1961 Chapel on the Hill!
William Henry “Bill” Ryan, AIA, practiced architecture in Oklahoma for 60 years and was the designer behind East Central High School, the iconic Route 66 Rose Bowl bowling alley, and numerous school, church and commercial projects across the region.
One of Ryan’s favorite projects was Church on the Hill in Broken Arrow, a former church that now functions as a wedding chapel and was renamed Chapel on the Hill. The uniquely shaped facility overlooks the city from one of its highest points and is a familiar part of the Broken Arrow skyline.
Join us on February 18th to see behind the doors of this one of a kind strucure!
