An Archivist’s Guide to Preserving Your Family History

Do you have a cherished collection of photographs and documents that you aren’t sure how to preserve?
In this workshop, TFA Archivist, Malinda Blank, will teach you best practices for storage, preservation, and digitization to ensure the life of your cherished family history. You will learn handling practices, preferred environmental conditions, and how to best store your collection.
A resource guide with material recommendations, preservations techniques, and additional resources will be given to every participant.
This workshop also includes a tour TFA’s George Kravis II Architectural Archive too see firsthand how large collections are stored and cared for.
TICKET INFORMATION: Tickets for this event are $20 for not yet members and $15 for TFA members.

ON EVENT DAY: Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to park and get checked in. Workshop begins at 6:30.

PARKING: TFA has a small back lot (east side of the building) and there is ample street parking that is free of charge after 5:00 PM!
ON EVENT DAY: Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to get checked in. This workshop takes place indoors on the main level and in the Archives (basement). Our historic building has unavoidable stairs: please purchase tickets accordingly.
